Word choise-why spiders have 8 eyes

Long ago, long before even dinosaurs were alive, there was spider and all the other creatures we have today. Spider was the biggest creature of all, and he could do anything to the other creatures whenever he wanted. One day, spider woke up from a deep sleep,and he was feeling very selfish.
he thought about the dream he had just had. he dreamed that he could see only ahead of himself, and when he wanted to see something on the side, he had to turn around! he thought, "since i am so mighty. I shouldn't have to do all the work!!"
so he made all the other creatures carry him wherever he wanted to go and turn him around whenever he wanted to look at something.
He liked this so much that he made the animals gather his food, too! After a year or so, all the animals were exhausted and wouldn't work for spider anymore.
Spider flew into rage."unless you work for me right now, i'll eat you all up" he said.
Nobody answered him. "fine! be that way" telled spider. " I'm hungry anyway!"
and with that,spider picked up mouse by the tail.
He was about to eat him when BOOM! An idea hit him in the head. He would save Mouse's eyes
and put them on his own body so that he wouldn't have to turn around anymore! So spider plopped mouse in his mouth, "crunch,crunch!" and carefully picked out the eyes. HE
stuck them on his body and repeated the same steps until all the animals were gone. HE was satisfied only when his whole body was covered with eyes. What a gruesome sight spider didn't care taht all the animals were gone because now
he could see! he could see the blue sky,green trees, golden sun, white clouds, gray stones, and all these wonderful things at once!


The next day spider went out to look for some food, but he soon realized that he didn't khow which plants were good and which plants were bad.
so He called to the leader of all Animals, " The food has run low! Please send me some more!"

the Leader replied, "no, first give back the animals " eyes!"

"how ?" asked spider.

"put them on this rock!" said the leader.

"fine" said spider.

so spider went to the nearest rock and put down the eyes, although very reluctantly. B ut because spider was so greedy , he kept eight eyes to himself.
Because Spider gave some of the eyes back, the leader of all animals kept his promise and gave spider except the insects. That's why Spider's prey are all insects, and that's why spider has 8 eyes.
